Upon entering the room, DEFSEC Gautrachs slammed the door
behind him nearly crashing it into the face of his chief-of-staff. There was nothing to misinterpret, the
DEFSEC wanted to be alone. The loud crash that sounded as the half oak and half
glass panel met its frame in fury echoed throughout the immediate office and
reverberated through the walls to the conference room filled with anxious
tension amongst the senior staff the DEFSEC had just berated. The chief-of-staff knew better to follow him,
yet had no idea what was the source of his boss’s fury.
Inside the spacious office, Gautrach paced its length raging
over the failed assault intended to permanently remove two members of the jury
clearing the ambiguity of their fate and fulfilling a significant phase of his
treasonous conspiracy. Contingencies
raced within his mind to continue forward toward his ultimate goal.
Gautrachs pulled the burner phone from his breast pocket and
dialed the ten digit number quickly as if wrote in his muscle memory. He waited
as the line rang three times before being answered.
“Again, what?” answered the voice on the other end of the
call.
“Are you ready for the party?” Gautrachs asked with shaking
confidence.
“Yes. Is there something else I need?”
“No. Just be there ready and pack to leave on short notice.
It’s extremely important that you do exactly as we discussed.” Gautrachs
instructed with deep concern.
“By tomorrow, you will have everything you have wanted. Keep
your eyes on the prize.” He added for motivation before hanging up the line.
